Yup, done it with my Opel Kapitan in 1974 or about 125 miles an hour on the Autobahn from Frankfurt am Main to Munich where I worked. This car was built by GM in South Africa for the European market. Kind of scary driving at 125 miles an hour, because my car started to shake...I went back to the normal speed of 90 miles an hour shortly after reaching my 200 km an hour. Felt safer. Never repeated this experience. I wish our highways in USA were built like the Autobahn (highways) of Germany. We could drive beyond 55 miles an hour....but people would have to learn to drive on the right lane of the highways like in Europe and trucks would never drive on the left lane (in a 3 lane highway) and stay on the right lane not to pass when it rains like in Europe...I miss these golden rules of safety.
